Your Life In A Nutshell
Okay, so maybe that's a little bit of an overstatement, but a résumé is a summing up of your working life and educational history. An effective one is also the most important tool you'll need in your career search.
Whether you're putting together a traditional print résumé or posting one online, the following basic guidelines will help you craft a high-impact, professional document that will get you noticed.
-- Keep it to one page.
-- Make it inviting to read and uncluttered.
-- Include your correct name and contact information (address, phone number, email address).
-- State an Objective and/or Summary of Qualifications.
-- Clearly communicate what you have done, can and will do.
-- Show continuous growth, covering any gaps positively.
-- Highlight quantifiable successes.
-- Use direct, expressive, and clear language.
-- Make it a true reflection of who you are.
-- Don't, under any circumstances, lie.
