Free ECC tools to reach students, alumni, and community members:

  • Create or update an expired posting to make your job or internship searchable. Sign in and go to Job Board, "Post a New Job," and fill out all information to increase searchability. Please note that your job name might not be what students are searching.
    • Use a job title that makes sense for the highest number of individuals. You can clarify the full job title in the content.
    • Complete the target fields--program and field which help students search by field versus job title.
    • Consider your content--for example, indicating a need for one to two years of experience and adding "will train" can be confusing.
  • The office assistant screens all postings and forwards relevant postings to instructional coordinators, administrators, and students automatically based on the target fields you check. Relevant postings are defined as those that require specific skills taught within ECC's courses.
  • All ECC postings are done through Hire Spartans. We promote Hire Spartans around campus and on our tv and entry screens. On-campus postings include a full listing of jobs on this site as well as highly relevant postings for specific campus locations.
  • On-campus recruiting. Set up a table and meet students face-to-face. Email SPEL@elgin.edu or call 847.214.7454 to schedule your date(s).

The college does have approved guidelines for each opportunity which are shared upon request to SPEL@elgin.edu.
