Daffodils Days Intern Job Description:
Daffodil Days is one of the American Cancer Society’s signature fundraising events. The Daffodil campaign consists of the pre-selling of bunches of 10 daffodils and other Daffodil Days products that are delivered during the week of March 22, 2010. Intern duties are available from September to May.
Responsibilities:
• Work with the Daffodil Days Coordinator to successfully recruit Daffodil Days Coordinators in companies in the area
• Assist with communications to volunteers and company coordinators
• Implements special projects as assigned
• May work directly with local volunteers
• Coordinate Daffodil Days college campaigns (letter writing, create fliers)
• Filling promotional requests as needed
• Help with maintaining E-mail database, writing emails
• Help with maintaining Daffodil website
• Track volunteers
• Assisting with mailings as needed
• Create and assist with mailings and flyers (newsletters, thank you letters, etc)
• Other Daffodil responsibilities as needed
• Some phone calls as needed
Knowledge/Skills Requires:
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, plus ability to work on a team
• Organizational and time management skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks
• Works well with limited supervision
• Must be very proactive
• Enthusiasm
• Willingness to learn
• Computer skills (e-mail, internet navigation, and Microsoft applications)
